Our Story
Embracing Spanish language diversity
Peru (2013-2016)
The first episode of Easy Spanish was produced in Peru in 2013 by language enthusiasts Beatriz and Christian. They produced episodes in Lima until the end of 2016, when the Mexican team took over the channel.
Mexico (2015-2019)
The first episode recorded in Mexico City was published on Christmas Eve 2015. This was the first step towards one of our project’s long-term goals: to represent the diversity of the Spanish language. Juan and Baruch, from Mexico City, produced videos for the channel until February 2020 when they handed on the baton to the current team.
Easy Spanish 2020: A whole new chapter
In 2020, the Easy Languages team travelled to Barcelona, Spain, to meet a group of language lovers interested in producing Easy Spanish. This is how we met Carla, Sara, Iván and Harry. They formed a new team with Francisco, who worked with Easy German at the time. Shortly after, we welcomed Johnny from the US, Agustín from Argentina and Pau from Mexico to make Easy Spanish a multi-national project. Over the years, this team has continued to evolve, with the addition of Aida, José and Juanjo, but our mission has remained the same. You can find out more about our current members below!
Our Team
Agustín
Agustín is responsible for all transcripts at Easy Spanish. He studies linguistics at Buenos Aires University. Agustín enjoys writing, reading, watching movies and playing football (soccer).
Carla
You can find Carla in many of our Youtube episodes and soon you'll hear her in our podcast too! Outside of Easy Spanish she works as a teacher in Barcelona and her passions include cooking, karaoke and Kafka.
Fran
Fran is part of the Easy Languages team and works closely together with Easy Spanish, as well as other productions. They feel passionate about organizing events and coming up with solutions to everyday challenges. In their free time, Fran loves watching new and old films, reading & traveling.
Harry
Harry has worked on the Easy Spanish content creation since 2020. He shoots videos in Barcelona and loves to think of new and exciting ideas for the Youtube episodes and community membership. He moved to Barcelona from the UK in 2019 as an English teacher, but now he dedicates himself to Easy Spanish full time.
Johnny
Johnny, born and raised in the United States, helps with the translation and subtitles for Easy Spanish. He loves languages (especially Spanish!) and hopes to study abroad.
José
José was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia but has lived a significant part of his life in Barcelona, Spain, where he’s currently studying for a degree in Linguistics. In his free time, José enjoys meeting up with friends over a drink in one of Barcelona’s many terraces and occasionally dancing the night out.
Juanjo
Juanjo helps out with our video and podcast editing as well as being the cameraman for our episodes in Mexico City. Juanjo is secretly an undercover Jazz musician, a fitness enthusiast, and is at his happiest when cooking for his friends.
Aida
Behind the cameras, Aida creates exercises and vocabulary lists based on our videos so that the Easy Spanish community members can practice and improve their Spanish more actively. She is a Spanish teacher with the conviction that learning languages should be fun, systematic, and practical.
Pau
Apart from being a host in our videos & podcast, Pau is the person who takes care of the Easy Spanish Community. She is a water guide, guiding people to reconnect with water through a therapy called Janzu. Fascinated by life, her dream is to help others learn.

Sara
Sara is a host at Easy Spanish based in Barcelona where she is also completing a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine. She loves to spend quality time with her friends and family, be it cooking, dancing or simply playing some music together.
